Mary.
Mary Mitchell Selmore, my 4x great grandmother. Some say she lived to be 102. She was born in the early 1800s and must have seen many changes during her life. She witnessed the industrial revolution, increased land takings, the boom of the timber industry, and the creation of the State of Maine. She experienced hardships I can’t fathom, however despite it all she lived for a century. She raised five children. Amid the changing world she must have experienced beauty and fulfillment and a sense of deeper purpose in order to persevere through it all, a drive and steady commitment we can all learn from.
